This product is colorless transparent liquid.
Function and use
This product can effectively dissolve functional corpus luteum plus
pathological corpus luteum and strengthen systolic and diastolic
rhythms of uterine smooth muscles.
It is commonly applied :
1. To cure failure to come into estrus due to persistent corpus
luteum or corpus luteum cysts.
2. In estrus synchronization and estrus control
3. In parturition control such as odinopoeia and abortion.
4. In postpartum care , preventing and curing puerperal
endometritis and promoting ovarian and uterus recovery.
This product is an artificially synthesized homologue of
prostaglandin F2a. It is able to cause quick regression of corpus
luteum with strong luleolytic effect and suppress its secretion ;
It can cause contraction of uterine smooth muscles and cervical
relaxation sine it has a direct excitatory effect on uterine smooth
muscles. Generally , animals with normal sexual sycle will be in
estrus 2 to 5 days after treatment and cattle that are 10 to 150
days pregnant will miscarry 2 to 3 days after injection of this
In veterinary clinical practice , this product can be used to
induce estrus synchronization for female animals, cure diseases
such as persistent corpus luteum , corpus luteum cysts and
follicular cysts for femal cattle; It also can be applied in
parturition synchronization for pregnant sows or eves as well as
the treatment of uterus subinvolution , retained fetal membranes ,
endometritis and pyometra after delivery.
It has luleclytic effect and is mainly used to control estrus
synchronization for femal cattle and induce
parturition for pregnant sows.
Usage and Dosage
5ml intramuscular injection for cattle

1. More effectively control cattle's estrus cycle and ovulation
2. Treat cattle that has functional corpus luteum but no estrus
appearance ( recessiveness estrus)
3. To induce cattle abortion
4. To induce cattle parturition

6. To control cattle breeding
Application in Cattle Reproduction
1. Estrus synchronization: There are two methods as follow:
a. Single-injection method. 40%-70% of the female cattle will come
into estrus 3-5 days after intramuscular injection of 0.2mg of
Cloprostenol Sodium on any day during their estrus cycle. It has no
effect on lower rate of estrus synchronization.
b. Double-injection method. Breeding is not implemented for estrous
cattle after the first injection of Cloprostenol Sodium and the
dosing shall be repeated once after an interval of 11-12 days. 3 to
5 days later, 40%-70% of the treated female cattel will come into
estrus. Either method can make the estrous pregnancy rate reach
2. Timed Artificial insemination for cows:
Method 1: the cows should be treated with 100μg of shuniu GnRH
first , injected 0.2-0.3mg of Cloprostenol Sodium after 7 days and
then injected 100μg of Shuniu GnRH 48 hours later. Estruses of the cows don't need
to be observed , they can just be implemented breeding 18-20 hours
after the second injection of Shuniu GnRH.
Method 2: The cows should be injected Cloprostenol Sodium twice
before implementing Method 1 with an interval of 14 days ,
0.2-0.3mg for each; 12 days after the second injection of
Cloprostenol Sodium , the cows are treated with Method 1. This
process can start 35-40 days after the delivery of the cows. and
breeding can be implemented 70-75 days after delivery. The
pregnancy rate is higher than that of Method 1.
3. Estrus induction: It has special effects on non-pregnancy of
female cattle due to functional corpus luteum , persistent corpus
luteum and corpus luteum cysts. Intrauterine input of 0.1mg of
Cloprostenol Sodium or intramuscular injection of 0.2mg should be
implemented within 5-14 days of the cycle.
4. Treatment of persisten corpus luteum and corpus luteum cysts:
intramuscular injection of 0.2mg of Cloprostenol Sodium; half of
the dose for intrauterine injection.
5. Treatment of uterine diseases ( subinvolution of uterus due to
retained fetal membranes , prolonged lochia. Pyometra , uterine
hydrops and endometritis of cattle) : intramuscular injection of
0.2mg of Cloprostenol Sodium; half of the dose for intrauterine
injection. If the first treatment is not ideal , the second
injection can be implemented 10-14 days later. When cooperatively
used with Ceftiofur Sodium, it can inhibit and kill pathogens ,
exerting better effect. After curing, breeding only can be
implemented in the second estrus.
6. Promoting the recovery of ovary and uterus after delivery and
shortening the calving interval : intramuscular injection of 0.2mg
of Cloprostenol Sodium within 2-5 days after delivery; once a day
for 2-3 consecutive days. It can promote the recovery of ovary and
uterus after delivery and prevent endometritis.
7. Shortening postpartum non-pregnant period : intramuscular
injection of 0.2mg of Cloprostenol Sodium about 30 days after
delivery can shorten the cattle's first estrus after deliver and
improve the pregnancy rate. Intramuscular injection of 100μg of
Shuniu (GnRH) on the 40th day after delivery , intramuscular
injection of 0.2mg of Cloprostenol Sodium on the 47th days and
intramuscular injection of 100μg of Shuniu (GnRH) on the 49th day
can improve the pregnancy rate within 90 days obviously.
8. Odinopoela and abortion: Intramuscular injection of 0.2mg of
Cloprostenol Sodium for female cattle with abrnormal pregnancy (
stillibirth , weak feluses or mismatch ). Some cows need continuous
injections for a few days until miscarriage. It has a better effect
on induced labor when cooperatively used with estradiol benzoate
and oxytocin during mid and late pregnancy.
