Broad-spectrum bacteriostatic agent for veterinary use
Valnemulin is a new generation of pleuromutilin (pleuromutilin)
class of semi synthetic antibiotics, two terpenes, and tiamulin
belong to the same class of drugs and antibiotics is a special
animal. It is mainly used for the prevention of Mycoplasma and gram
positive bacteria infection in pigs, cattle, sheep and poultry.
Approved by the European Community in 1999 for the prevention and
treatment of swine dysentery caused by short hyodysenteriae
(Brachyspira) infection caused by swine dysentery and Mycoplasma
pneumoniae infection caused by local pneumonia in pigs. It was the
first European approved veterinary drug premix and was listed as a
veterinary prescription. January 2004 was approved by the
prevention of colon bacteria having short helix (Brachyspira
pilosicoli) infection in pig colon caused by leptospirosis
(colitis, diarrhea and colitis) in a mild form of growing pigs by
intracellular bacteria infection caused by porcine proliferative
enteropathy (ileitis ileitis). B.hyodysenteriae, having short colon
bacteria leptospira and intracellular bacteria is most
arch-criminal enteritis in growing pigs.
valnemulin is inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis at the
ribosome synthesis level, high concentration also inhibited RNA.
Mainly antibacterial, but also sterilization at high
concentrations. The antibacterial spectrum is wide, and it is
effective for G+ and G- bacteria, and is highly effective to the
genus and Leptospira, but it has low effect on the intestinal
bacteria such as E. coli and Salmonella.
Pig oral valnemulin rapid absorption, absorption rate of more than
90% hours after administration of 1-4 reached the highest
concentration of plasma, plasma half-life of 1.3-2.7 hours. A
single oral dose of 10 mg/kg body weight of valnemulin
hydrochloride, the peak time of 1.85 hours, the peak concentration

When the dose of 25mg/kg body weight, the peak time of 2.9 hours,

area under the curve (AUC) of 67.3 g/ml/ hours; plasma the
concentration and dosage of linear relationship. After repeated
administration, a slight accumulation occurred, but within 5 hours.

Because of the obvious first pass effect, the plasma concentration

Valnemulin 200ppm mixed feeding, the drug concentration of colon

concentration of mixed feed.
Valnemulin of metabolism and excretion of metabolites widely in
